【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardisintendedtofacilitateuserselectionofanimagescanner.ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestheminimuminformationthatshallbeincludedbymanufacturersintheirspecificationsheetsforscanners.ThisInternationalStandardismadefortheaverageenduser.Forthisreasonitdoesnotdescribeallspecificationsofscannerswithspecialfeaturessuchasdoublesidedscanningorhighspeed.Byinsuringconsistencyofspecificationofscannerproductinformation,thisInternationalStandardenablestheendusertomakemeaningfulcomparisonsofmachinefunctionalityandperformancecharacteristics.Themostmeaningfulparametersoffunctionandperformancearespecifiedanddefined,andmeasuresofperformanceareprovided.ThisInternationalStandardfurtherappliestotypesofscannerswhicharemostprevalentinuse,includingparametersforascanningengine(anoptomechanicalphysicaldevice)andbasicimageprocessingonly(thoseprocessesincludedigitaldataoutputwithencodedgrayscale,orunencodedsinglebitplushalftonedata).ItdoesnotrequirespecificationofadvancedapplicationprocessingsuchasOCR,translation,vectorconversion,etc.Becausescannersusebothsoftwareand/orhardwaretoachievesomescannerfunctionsandcontrols,thestandardcontainssomeentriesrelatedtosoftwareeventhoughthestandardisprimarilyforscannerhardware.Themanufacturer,athisoption,mayincludedescriptionofsuchadditionalfunctionalitywhichmaybeprovided.Thisstandardalsodoesnotconsiderimagequality,nordoesitprovideoruserelatedtesttargets.
