【摘要】:Gaseousfuels,suchasnaturalgas,petroleumgasesandbio-gases,containvaryingamountsandtypesofsulfurcompounds.Theyaregenerallyodorous,corrosivetoequipment,andcaninhibitordestroycatalystsemployedingasprocessing.Theiraccuratemeasurementisessentialtogasprocessing,operationandutilization,andmaybeofregulatoryinterest.Smallamounts(typically,1to4ppmv)ofsulfurodorantsareaddedtonaturalgasandotherfuelgasesforsafetypurposes.Somesulfurodorantscanbereactive,andmaybeoxidized,formingmorestablesulfurcompoundshavinglowerodorthresholds.Thesegaseousfuelsareanalyzedforsulfurodorantstohelpinmonitoringandtoensureappropriateodorantlevelsforpublicsafety.Thismethodoffersatechniquetodetermineindividualsulfurspeciesingaseousfuelandthetotalsulfurcontentbycalculation.Gaschromatographyiscommonlyandextensivelyusedtodetermineallcomponentsingaseousfuelsincludingfixedgasandorganiccomponents(TestMethodsD1945andD1946).Majorcomponentsmeasuredareoftenusedforthedeterminationofgasproperty,suchasheatingvalueandrelativedensity.Highermolarmasshydrocarbonsareofinterestevenwhenpresentinsmallamountsbecausetheirlargerimpactonheatingvalue,hydrocarbondewpointandgasqualityrelatingtogasoperation,gasutilizationandenvironmentalimpacts.1.1Thistestmethodisforthedeterminationofvolatilesulfur-containingcompoundsandminorhydrocarbonsingaseousfuelsincludingcomponentswithhighermolarmassthanthatofpropaneinahighmethanegas,bygaschromatography(GC)andatomicemissiondetection(AED).HydrocarbonsincludeindividualaliphaticcomponentsfromC4toC6,aromaticcomponentsandgroupsofhydrocarbonsclassifiedaccordingtocarbonnumbersuptoC12atleast,suchasC6-C7,C7-C8,C8-C9andC9-C10,etc.Thedetectionrangeforsulfurandcarboncontainingcompoundsisapproximately20to100000picograms(pg).Thisisroughlyequivalentto0.04to200mg/m3sulfurorcarbonbasedupontheanalysisofa0.25mLsample.1.2ThistestmethoddescribesaGC-AEDmethodemployingaspecificcapillaryGCcolumnasanillustrationfornaturalgasandothergaseousfuelcontaininglowpercentagesofethaneandpropane.AlternativeGCcolumnsandinstrumentparametersmaybeusedinthisanalysisoptimizedfordifferenttypesofgaseousfuel,providedthatappropriateseparationofthecompoundsofinterestcanbeachieved.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotintendtoidentifyallindividualsulfurspecies.Unknownsulfurcompoundsaremeasuredasmono-sulfurcontainingcompounds.Totalsulfurcontentofasamplecanbefoundbysummingupsulfurcontentpresentinallsulfurspecies.1.4ThismethodisnotaDetailedHydrocarbonAnalysis(DHA)methodanddoesnotintendtoidentifyallindividualhydrocarbonspecies.Aliphatichydrocarboncomponentslighterthann-hexane,benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,m,p-xylenesando-xylene(BTEX)aregenerallyseparatedandidentifiedindividually.Highermolarmasshydrocarbonsaredeterminedasgroupsbasedoncarbonnumber,excludingBTEX.Thetotalcarboncontentofpropaneandhighermolarmasscomponentsinasamplecanbefoundbysummingupcarboncontentpresentinallspeciescontainingcarbon.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsarestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesa......
